Spoon Sports Steering Wheel (Gen 1 to Gen 3)
The Spoon Sports Steering Wheel is arguably one of the most understated grails in the JDM scene — not because it's flashy, but because it's subtle, rare, and deeply tied to the heritage of Honda tuning culture.
There are three generations of the Spoon Sports wheel:
Gen 1: Based on the classic Momo Monte Carlo with red stitching and a Spoon Sports horn button with yellow text on a black background.
Gen 1.5: Nearly identical to Gen 1 but with slight refinements in logo printing — this one trips up a lot of collectors.
Gen 3: The most recent and refined version, also based on a red-stitched Monte Carlo, but features the iconic yellow background Spoon horn button that pops like no other.
Importantly, none of the Spoon wheels ever used suede — despite assumptions based on the Momo heritage. They were always wrapped in high-quality leather.
Market Realities
Pricing estimates for these wheels are all over the place. Some sellers list Gen 1 wheels for over $1,000, while others can be seen letting Gen 3s go for $400–600 — but make no mistake, they don’t last long. Counterfeits exist, and the horn button alone can go for a premium.
The giveaway here? That’s right — I’m giving away a brand new Spoon Gen 3 Steering Wheel to one lucky follower. Stay tuned on Instagram and join the hunt.
This is more than a wheel. It’s a symbol. A grip on JDM history. And maybe… a reminder to keep your hands at 9 and 3.
